Copper production

High-quality copper production
GVA Krefeld supplies a wide range of components required for the entire copper smelting process. These include slag pots, converters, casting channels and all the necessary spare parts.

GVA Krefeld supports the copper smelting process from ore to high-purity copper. This complex process requires a large number of components. GVA Krefeld manufactures the following components for the copper production process, among others.

Components of the converter

Converters are also central to copper production. These are already designed for specific customer requirements and can be manufactured by GVA Krefeld.

Slag pots

Slag, a by-product of the smelting process, is collected and transported in specially designed slag pots.

In close cooperation with our customers, the disposal companies and plant constructors, we develop the most technically and economically optimal solutions for the design of an original GVA pot.

Pouring chutes

After the copper has been smelted and cleaned, it is passed through casting channels to be poured into molds.

GVA Krefeld designs and manufactures these casting channels tailored to the respective plant systems.

Casting moulds

Solid moulds are required to pour the molten copper, e.g. casting molds for ingots, plates and anodes.

Casting ladles

We manufacture casting ladles according to customer requirements to hold, transport and precisely pour liquid metal.

Spare parts in the process

Wear is unavoidable in these high-temperature processes. To minimize downtime due to premature wear, we can optimize the design and material based on your application parameters.
